Approach
Extended Stay America is one of the faster growing, hotel
chains in the hospitality industry. Founded in 1995 by two
former executives of Blockbuster Video, the hotels features
home-like amenities for travelers needing a place to call
home for extended periods.
Creative
The project was to develop an identity that will reflect the
quality of their product, retain the value message and be
visible on signage along Interstates. The "sleepy e"
was designed to communicate the relaxing, extended feature
of the company. The identity was then applied to their corporate
stationery, brochure, building signage, direct mailers and
other forms of communication. Extended Stay America then wanted
to rethink the interiors of their rooms. The kitchen was create
a visual separation between the living area and the kitchen
and bath.
Results
Extended Stay is now rolled out nationally and proven a very
successful concept. The Hotel brand enjoys strong visibility,
and the room re-design has increased the perceived value for
the consumer, allowing for a more desirable price point.
